about

John says: 'At one time I used to drive quite a bit along a main road south-east of Paris. This journey took me through a wooded area with parking places by the roadside. I would often see vans parked up, with lorries parked nearby, and eventually it dawned on me that these vans were probably the "offices" of "working girls". This song describes an imagined story of a generic prostitute who worked from her van in the woods. It pays a little homage to "Prostitute Poem" by Gilli Smyth of the band Gong.'
