This is a song that focuses on bodily autonomy: in this case, the individual's basic human right to choose whether or not to allow a medical intervention (ostensibly called a 'vaccine', though it's not a vaccine - it is an experimental gene therapy).
The song alludes to Billy Bragg, who at the time of writing is pro-vaccine passports (not necessarily 'pro-vaccines', per se), which are an infringement of civil liberties and contrary to Billy Bragg's past appreciation of freedom (check out 'O Freedom' by Billy Bragg).
This is not a libertarian song, it is pro-choice and pro-Nuremberg Code, which incidentally is International Law.
So... serious stuff :)
It was 2021 when I wrote this song,
I am 63/4 now, but I won’t be for long,
Cos I’m a firm believer in the jab of the arm,
And I follow the Science, says it will do you no harm.
I know a bit about fascism and history,
But that was bloody yesterdee,
The times have a-changed and now I’m with the Dark Side,
I’m just following orders, from medical apartheid.
I don’t want to catch a cold,
I’m only looking for a new normal,
I just want to feel relaxed,
Just show your passports at the door,
Things won't be the same anymore,
I’m only safe, when you are vaxxed.
You loved me then, and you love me still,
I'm glad about that, cos I need to pay the bills,
My live business, has gone to shit,
Ever since the covid, pandemic... hit.
I want to be with you forever,
Now that can happen, as we are all in this together,
We must protect the NHS,
Just a few more weeks, to get us out of this mess.
I don’t want to catch a cold,
I’m only looking for a new normal,
I just want to feel relaxed,
Show your passports at the door,
Shared responsib-il-ity,
I’m only safe when you are vaxxed.
My head was getting very dark,
So I stood with people in the park,
They had some rational ideas,
And said some things, to allay my fears.
Once upon a time at home,
I read some posts on Telegram,
They said that none of it was true,
That the virus was no worse than Flu.
I still don’t want to catch a cold,
I’m not looking for a new normal,
And I just want to relax.
Scrap those passports at the door,
Do you be-lieve the Bee Bee See?
Do you feel free, when you are vaxxed?
I still don’t want to catch a cold,
I’m not looking for a new normal,
And I just want to relax.
Scrap those passports at the door,
Things won't be the same anymore?
Do you feel free when you are vaxxed?
Do you feel free, when you are vaxxed?
Do you feel free, when you are vaxxed?
Do you feel free, when you are vaxxed?
Do you feel free, when you are vaxxed?
Cos I'm relaxed, now you are vaxxed!
