about

Originally released on 'Photocopy Of My Mind' in 2001, this song was included on the studio collection, Portfolio Career in 2004, as recorded by Rikki Borkum at his 'Bayside' studio.

lyrics

I work hard every day, to get my full week's pay, it may go straight into the hands of The Brewery. At weekends I go out, and I push the jug about, push it straight back into the hands of The Brewery. And with the exercise I get, I put weight on my chin and belly, and it's massaged by the hands of The Brewery. I have so many different friends, I need to go out each night of the week, all my my money goes into the hands, of The Brewery. I need to be seen in all the best places, drinking beer with whisky chasers, chased straight into the hands, of The Brewery. And with the wages that I get, I haven't bought my freedom yet, my freedom from the hands, of The Brewery. I'll always be a slave, to The Brewery...
