Do The Seagulls Know It's Xmas?

from Separation Anxiety (33min album) by John Zonn

/

about

The sounds of the adult seagulls surround little baby Chris: given a humble clifftop birth by his parents, Joseph and Mary, and visited by Star the seaside donkey bringing a gift of ice cream. Chris makes his name helping others and makes friends with a sheep called Rhys, who gives Chris some of his fleece. The life of Chris seems to mirror that of the human prophet, Jesus Christ, providing the other seagulls with fish, and wine. In the end Chris comes to a sticky end with some fishing net and the older seagull, Pilot, can't help him. Chris's amour makes a cross to remember him by, and so the story ends...
